Position Summary

Position Summary:

 

Provides technical support on SAP Basis systems including establishing standards and requirements, evaluating enhancements, and implementing solutions for performance monitoring, systems configuration, design, and implementation.

 

Implement and support all hardware and software systems that SAP is dependent upon and interfaces with (operating systems, hardware systems, DBMS, LAN, Storage, etc.).

 

Implements SAP architecture requirements and specifications to ensure the system is meeting corporate needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support of day-to-day operations of SAP systems and interfaces.
  • SAP user and authorization administration; printer administration
  • Database system support, management, and administration.
  • Operating system support of SAP Systems and related interfaces.
  • Audit functions related to SAP and other IT systems.    
  • Implementation of new products and solutions and application of upgrades and patches to existing installations.
  • SAP security roles and authorizations administration.
  • Implementation of field concepts, best-practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with user community and write technical documentation.
  • Performs work that is varied and somewhat difficult.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to provide strategic input as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 4 years of SAP Basis experience, or transferrable knowledge in systems administration
  • 5 years of Information Technology/Architecture experience.
  • Relational database design and client server concepts; specifically, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Solid working knowledge of hardware architecture including servers, storage, and LAN/WAN.
