Position Summary

Position Summary:

 

This position will be responsible for general accounting, accounts payable and accounting for consolidated and unconsolidated subsidiaries for Remington Outdoor Company, Inc.  

Primary Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for managing the Corporate Accounting Department
  • Responsibility for managing the Corporate Accounts Payable Department
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliation and journal entries for more complex accounting areas.
  • Review monthly general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Manage and coordinate the completion of most audit related materials for both bank and external audits.
  • Prepare and / or review management reports completed on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Analyze accrual balances and revenue / expense accounts
  • Perform regular internal control reviews as required
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly Rebates & Discounts Meeting
  • Ensure licensing income is recorded in accordance with GAAP
  • Create cost centers / internal orders and establish settlement rules as needed and approved
  • Review/oversee, maintain, and process monthly recurring journal entries
  • Assist other Remington departments with Accounting related requests
  • Coordinate the month end close process and monitor the progress of entry postings.
  • Supervise the process of and ensuring that all account reconciliations are completed for Corporate balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist Corporate Controller with various special projects
  • Oversight in some plant/manufacturer accounts
  • Coordinate with Plant sites regarding period end close process

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting required with active CPA license.
• 7-10 years’ experience in Accounting in a consumer products company
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to analyze and interpret operating results and complicated data and prepare concise reports for senior management.

 

Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to identify problems and propose solutions to prevent or correct those problems with minimal management direction.

 

Computer Skills:
• Personal computer skills including extensive knowledge of:
o Excel
o Word
o PowerPoint
• Experience with:
o Accounting
o Consolidation
o Reporting systems
o SAP preferred.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to manage and lead direct reports.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
