Position Summary

Position Summary:


The Sr. Financial Analyst for Corporate is responsible for coordinating and analyzing reports for monthly close, monthly forecasting, the annual budget process and any ad hoc projects and requests.  The Sr. Financial Analyst will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and driving an increased focus on operating expense analytics, containment and allocation strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain standard reporting from BPC on monthly and other periodic basis driving increased visibility to key spending trends.  Reporting to include, but not limited to, closing packages, variance analysis, forecast bridges and P&L level analytics.
  • Lead and conduct reviews with key cost center owners and non-SAP businesses to drive cost control and insight toward potential risks / opportunities; including coordination and consolidation of forecasting assumptions for operating expense spend.
  • Prepare overall financial reporting packages for periodic review with VP, CFO and Executive Leadership including performance variances and analytical insight on trends.
  • Refine methodology to improve visibility, integration and analysis of non-Corporate operating expenses across the entire FGI organization; including support of BPC / Business Objects team integration activities.
  • Lead the development of the annual operating expense budget for FGI; including collaboration Corporate cost center owners, non-SAP business leaders and other members of the Finance team.
  • Perform coordination and consolidation activities for annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles; including calendar management, status updates on timeline adherence and detailed completion tracking.
  • Prepare and consolidate Corporate financial and management reporting packages and presentations; coordinate consistency of message and format across multiple FP&A teams.
  • Support the Corporate Finance Team, FP&A teams, Corporate Management and P&L Leaders with ad hoc requests and reporting requirements as it relates to operating expenses, P&L consolidation and Corporate reporting requirements.
  • Assist the accounting staff and external auditors to ensure accuracy and integrity of company financial processes and statements.
  • Work with the BPC / Business Objects teams on projects and upgrades.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting with ad hoc requests, operating expense analysis and other financial/operational projects.

  • B.A. or B.S. from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of four years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


Language Skills                        

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Mathematical Skills                        

  • Strong financial modeling skills, especially income statement and expense analysis.

Reasoning Ability                        

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills                        

  • Outstanding PC skills in Microsoft environment, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation capabilities.
