Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity personally or through subordinate supervisors. Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: policy administration, training, employee relations, community involvement, safety programs, communications programs, etc.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources
functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
Coordinates annual compliance surveys and training
Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance
review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations,
civil rights issues etc.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Partners with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures,
laws, standards and government regulations.
Administers merit review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the
Huntsville, AL location.
Investigates workplace accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation
Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the
management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Oversees coordination of employee programs, Community Involvement Committee sponsored
events, blood drives, United Way, first-aid training, seasonal holiday and community activities,
employee recognition program, educational assistance, service award programs, etc.
Responds to all EEOC charges
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Prepares budget of human resources operations.

Bachelor's degree in business management, human resources, organization development, or related discipline
At least five years in Human Resources Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
