  • Position Summary

    Responsible for supervising all costing and inventory valuation decisions and changes, including: costing new product, as well as annual update of established product, inventory reconciliation, physical inventory process, and monthly closing process

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Responsible for management of employees & work with all levels of plant management.
    • Assist Plant Controller in ad hoc analysis preparation.
    • Develop and Maintain llion facility Standard cost for new product, and annual update of standard costs.
    • Participate in Creation and Maintenance of Material costs, as well as Labor & Overhead rates in SAP, via annual Budget Process.
    • Provide assistance to MIM plant in regards to quoting process for new product development.
    • Provide Production, Engineering, Planning, and Purchasing support in regards to all costing and inventory issues in SAP.
    • Participate in monthly closing process, including: preparation of journal vouchers and trial balance reconciliations, and order settlement of production orders.
    • Analyze production order variances, and identify corrective action and/or timing issues.
    • Provide assistance regarding inventory discrepancies, as required, including identification of root cause and recommendations of corrective action.
    • Provide assistance to outside Auditing in regards to Costing, Excess/Obsolescence, and Inventory related issues.
    • Maintain Excess and Obsolescence reserve for Raw Material and Semi-finished Goods.
    • Assist in thorough testing of any new processes developed in SAP, as well as new upgrades to SAP in regards to Costing and Inventory Control.
    • Provide assistance with annual processes, Excise Tax calculation, and other required reporting.
    • Follow all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.

    • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting (or Accounting related area) from four-year college or university. 3-5 Years Accounting experience preferred, manufacturing experience a plus.
    • Ability to calculate figures and to apply concepts of basic algebra. Must be proficient in ExcelWord software. Good understanding of ERP systems preferably in SAP.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS sheets, operating and
    • maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people and employees.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schdule form.
