  • Position Summary

    General Summary

     

    Provide direction & leadership to operators, lead positions, and supervisors in regard to machining operations on CNC machinery.  Writes and edits CNC programs, purchases tooling, designs tooling and fixtures. Optimizes tool path and programs for maximum efficiency and tool life.  Responsible for start-up of new work.

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

     

     

    • Defines CNC process requirements for new parts and improvements to existing parts
    • CNC Programming of lathes & mills
    • Application of cutting tools
    • Development of process documentation
    • Cutting parameters-general machine shop practices
    • Develops specifications for turn-key CNC process improvements
    • Process improvement to include identifying, evaluating and developing recommendations for the continuous improvement of product/process quality, productivity and schedule performance.
    • Works as part of special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead in a machining environment and a Technical Certification is preferred.
    • Must be capable of operating all machinery and software used in the manufacturing process.  
    • Must possess working knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
