  • Position Summary

    General Summary

     

    • Reports into the Maintenance Supervisor
    • Determine cause of any electrical malfunction, plan a course of corrective action and perform the necessary repair work to correct the problem.
    • Install, inspect, maintain and adjust all electrical equipment and transmission lines in the operating departments of the plant.

     

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

     

    • Install and repair all standard electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
    • Measure, cut, bend, and install wire and conduit using hand tools, power tools and related equipment.
    • Perform repairs, such as; replacing fuses, light bulbs, light switches, safety switches, motor starters, relays control transformers, small motors, etc.
    • Rig scaffolds and hoisting equipment for installing, ducts, conduit and cables on walls, ceilings, or structures and for moving heavy electrical equipment.
    • Install, maintain, adjust, and inspect all types of electrical equipment on the plant.
    • Use equipment drawings, instructions, and test equipment such as; voltmeter, ammeter, OHM meter, multimer, tachometer, wattmeter, megger, oscilloscope and vibration meter to locate and determine reason for malfunction.
    • Be capable of determining reason for malfunction in absence of equipment or instructions.
    • Lay out and fabricate materials for installations or repair of equipment working from electrical drawings or diagrams.
    • Locate, disassemble, rewind, re-insulate, reassemble or correct and service any motor, starter, control, circuit breaker or circuits on lines of any voltage, frequen current.
    • Repair, calibrate, and adjust all electric and electronic controls found on plant.
    • Fabricate and install all types of bus bars.
    • Install control panel wiring and equipment using wiring diagrams.
    • May work with an electrical specialist when troubleshooting the complex electrical systems and controls.
