  • Position Summary

    General Summary:


    Administration of shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment.  Will assist and monitor daily employee production tasks, actively implement and control policies and procedures, strive to introduce improvement into process, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions

    Primary Responsibilities


    Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions):


    • Supervise and support Production Team Members in their daily work requirements
    • Implement Lean principles and lead Kaizen activities
    • Lead shop floor communications with all functions focusing on KPIs
    • Promote effective employee relations.  Under the guidance of HR, will provide employee coaching and development, make employment decisions, and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
    • Develop a safe work environment; investigate accidents and develop corrective action plans.
    • Maintain proper inventory levels and strive for 100% production adherence.
    • Track absenteeism, time-keeping, and manage overtime in a responsible manner.
    • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and workforce accountability measures.
    • Maintain and improve good working conditions and increase employee’s skills and capabilities.
    • Assist manager and supervisors in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.
    • Balance safety, quality, morale, productivity, and cost to achieve positive results in all areas.
    • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular process reports to management.

    Skills and Education Required

    Qualifications, Educational skills and experience:

    • 2-year degree and/or equivalent experience in related field.  Minimum three to five years of experience in a leadership role.


    Other qualifications:

    • Must demonstrate effective time management, be flexible within a dynamic work setting, and be an effective and collaborative  team player\
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Trouble shooting, safety oriented and reasoning Skills
    • Implementation and planning skills
    • Human relation skills
    • Demonstrate knowledge of Lean Tools and Kaizen experience
    • Computer skills
    • Preferred experience with SAP

    Work Environment:


    • Moderate to fast pace work environment.
    • Work around moving machinery.
    • Exposure to dust, fumes and chemicals.


    Physical Demands:


    • Must be capable of working different and extended schedules.
    • Capable of standing or walking for seven hours a day.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, carry or lift up to 30 lbs
