    Position Summary:


    The main responsibilities for this job include:


    • Oversee that the payroll processing for all ROC locations is completed timely and accurately
    • Responsible for ensuring that the SAP/HR interface is processed into ADP
    • Process and supervise periodic payrolls for employees across all sites
    • Oversee ADP to ensure Federal, State & Local taxes are filed timely  
    • Generate payroll reports for submission to third-party vendors including electronic files
    • Provide reports and support to accounting, tax and HR as needed

    Primary Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Payroll Processing:

    • Work with IT to ensure the weekly and semi-monthly interfaces are processed timely to ensure accurate payrolls.  Verify data against COS’s for accuracy and make and changes.
    • Process weekly payroll for various hourly sites
    • Process semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees
    • Garnishment maintenance 
    • Prepare Special/Incentive pays as necessary



    • Transmit electronic files to third party benefit vendors as required
    • Prepare any debit/wire vouchers as required for third party payments
    • Prepare any reporting required for year-end audit and 5500 audits
    • Prepare reports for accounting and tax as needed
    • Work with ADP on preparation of W-2’s and approve
    • Work with accounting department to prepare month-end close benefit/compensation accruals


    Tax Reporting:

    • Oversee ADP to ensure tax reporting is completed timely 
    • Review agency notices to ensure proper communication between ADP and ROC 
    • Correspond with Federal/State/Local taxing jurisdictions and ADP to open/close accounts as needed


    Project Management:

    • Work with Corporate Controller to establish consistent reporting and payroll processing across all manufacturing sites
    • Perform analysis around our third-party processor to determine potential cost savings
    • Establish scorecards and metrics for reporting payroll department statistics
    • Manage the relationship with the third-party processor



    • Research discrepancies and provide corrective measures
    • Work with tax departments and local sites for unclaimed wages 
    • Provide support for Workers Compensation forecasted payroll
    • Prepare adjustments to W-2 for Misc Income (Fringe benefits)

    Skills and Education Required

    Supervisory Responsibilities:    


    This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however, will direct and work closely with plant payroll personnel.

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) 
    • Or equivalent from four-year college or university
    • 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
    • ADP experience a must


    Language Skills:                        

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


    Mathematical Skills:                        

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability                        

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
    •  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Computer Skills:                       

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

    •  ADP Payforce 
    •  SAP
    • Excel Spreadsheet software 
    • Microsoft Word Processing software


    Other Skills and Abilities:                        

    • Keyboard knowledge
