  • Position Summary

    Position Summary:


    Directs production, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate area managers.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:


    Makes recommendations for, and directs implementation and execution of, manufacturing policies and practices throughout area of responsibility.


    Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.


    Reviews production costs, product quality, and production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitability of operations.


    Builds, develops and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations. 


    Plans and oversees budgeting process for area of responsibility.


    Follows all plant safety rules and regulations.


    Insures compliance with state and federal regulations and Company policies and procedures.




    Manages subordinate area managers and other staff support responsible for the production of firearms and their components.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of multiple areas. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees;  

    planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in a technical field; 5 to 10 years of progressive, related manufacturing experience and responsibilities in supervisory positions; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Highly developed leadership skills with demonstrated ability to achieve results through others.   


    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to present information either in written or verbal format to insure understanding.


    Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities.


    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and implement solutions at both a strategic and functional level.


    Technical skills in lean manufacturing techniques, process improvement, materials management and production scheduling.


    Proficient in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Access)


    Experience in managing a union environment preferred.
