The Manufacturing Value Stream Engineer (VSE) is responsible for generating all work instructions necessary to produce both saleable products and internally used equipment and tooling. The VSE is responsible, in cooperation with other employees, for designing any new equipment necessary to improve existing processes, or to implement new processes. The VSE is responsible to participate in brainstorming sessions, Research & Development of new products and processes, and to assist in the troubleshooting of problems.
Responsible for generating Routers for factory workflow
Responsible for generating all work instructions necessary to produce both saleable products and internally used equipment and tooling
Responsible to keep all work instructions, blueprints, and resident plans current and updated to the latest technologies and practices. The work instructions shall be reviewed at the completion of all jobs, and any improvements, changes or corrections entered into the computer system in preparation for the next time the product is produced
Responsible in cooperation with other employees, for designing any new equipment necessary to improve existing processes, or to implement new processes
Responsible to participate in brainstorming sessions, Research & Development of new products and processes, and to assist in the troubleshooting of problems
At times may be called on to operate, repair or troubleshoot problems with machinery, or otherwise assist Production, Maintenance or Quality Assurance personnel
May at times be required (at the companies’ expense) to travel, attending offsite training or trade shows, etc. and interface with customers and suppliers
May be called upon after hours, weekends or during 2nd or 3rd shifts, if necessary, to support production

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline preferred, or 4 years engineering work experience.
Good working knowledge of the computer programs: Auto-Cad, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of SolidWorks, SurfCam or other programs a plus
Extensive knowledge and experience with machining, electrical, welding, plating, metallurgy, heat-treating, Electrical Discharge Machining and general metalworking such as turning, and milling are essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are a must
Experience in or familiarity with the shooting sports industry is also beneficial

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, explosives, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment varies. Personal protective equipment to limit exposure to these environments will be provided.
Employees may encounter hazardous wastes during their work. Hazardous wastes are to be handled appropriately; including applicable use of PPE, placement into compatible containers, container labeling and marking; etc. Additionally, wastes may need to be transported to/from satellite accumulation areas to 90-day accumulation area; via dolly, forklift, etc. All employees working with, handling, or managing hazardous wastes will receive annual RCRA training. Those employees preparing waste for shipment will receive additional trainings (DOT).
