  • Position Summary

    General Summary:

     

    The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant is to support Financial Management and the Accounting Department in the completion of their duties and responsibilities as well as perform more specific duties as specifically assigned.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions):

      • Prepare documentation regarding Accounting processes and work with Accounting Manager to standardize processes
      • Maintain Fixed Asset ledger and reconciliation
      • Work on special projects as required 
      • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations as assigned
      • Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned
      • Prepare management reports completed on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis
      • Analyze accrual balances and revenue / expense accounts
      • Assist other Remington departments with Accounting related requests
      • Prepare audit schedules and support

    Education and/or Experience:                       

    Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Accounting (or Accounting related area) from four-year college or university

     

    Language Skills:                       

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills:                        

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    Reasoning Ability:                        

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Computer Skills:                        

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a solid foundation with Microsoft Office, and experience with SAP is a plus.

     

    Other Skills and Abilities:                       

    Accounting job experience and course work.
