  • Position Summary

    Position Summary:

     

    Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all in-house design and production activities required to support advertising (print & digital) for product launches, trade shows, websites/ecommerce, email marketing, product packaging, and accessories.  

    Primary Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Leverage creative briefs / briefing process and designs to meet the businesses objectives and needs of the organization.
    • Produce original graphic sketches, designs and layouts for advertising (print & digital).
    • Produce promotional displays, product packaging, posters, banners, sell sheets, catalogs, brochures and other in-house graphic pieces.
    • Design distinctive logos and icons.
    • Edit, retouch & resize product photography for print & digital.
    • Deconstruct existing working files to produce additional pieces
    • Management of digital assets including the uploading and organization of graphics and photos.
    • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative materials and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, knowledge of principles, and aesthetic design concepts. 
    • Identify the most effective way to relay messages, as directed, in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
    • Assist in proofreading all in-house creative.

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
    • Five years related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

     

    Language Skills:

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Computer Skills:                       

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in:

     

    • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver)
    • Familiar with content management systems and email marketing 
    • Individual must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint.

     

     

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Degree in graphic design or equivalent experience in a consumer marketing company.
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in creating and managing the creation of graphic materials.
    • Strong work ethic and enjoys working in an extremely fast paced environment. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business (i.e., sales, operations, administration and marketing).
    • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks unsupervised.
    • Strong attention to detail a must.
    • Knowledge of print production principles and ability to package and prepare print-ready files to vendor specifications.
    • Front-end development and ecommerce experience are a plus

    • Email marketing software experience a plus.
