    Position Summary:


    Execute the purchasing program management process in support of Remington Product Development System (RPDS) deliverables for Department of Defense (DOD), Commercial, Law Enforcement and other programs.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Primary interface between Sourcing, Suppliers, and the Product Development teams.
    • Responsible to both, the Product team and Sourcing teams, for the on-time execution and tracking of Sourcing deliverables for all Remington Product Development System (RPDS) programs, in addition to supply continuity management.  
    • Responsible for tracking all Purchasing aspects of the program, from sourcing approach, quotes status, long-lead supplier selection, sourcing confirmation, parts delivery and approval, etc.  
    • Develops and tracks a consistent Early Sourcing Work Plan (ESWP) methodology to focus sourcing efforts that deliver supplier sourcing by the required RPDS on-board date.  Objective is to track key phase gates from RFQ issuance to selected supplier delivering production parts at agreed upon volume.
    • Manages and tracks carryover component usage and focus efforts on part commonality.
    • Tracks program prototype sourcing & pricing to ensure production suppliers are used to the maximum extent possible and prototype pricing is a reasonable extension of production prices.
    • Track and manage supplier selection and readiness on major projects. Coordinates Stakeholder meetings for Commodity Leads for Sourcing Approach and Sourcing Confirmation milestones.
    • Tracks, monitors and reports first article submission and PPAP status and reports to Management and team on a regular basis as dictated by the cadence of the program. 
    • Tracks, monitors and reports initial production ramp up requirement status.
    • Responsible for tracking and reporting on New Product Proposals (NPP’s) and supporting cost reduction initiatives
    • Works under the direction of the Corporate Sourcing Commodity Leads to ensure timely supply strategies are executed and communicated to ensure uninterrupted flow of high-quality materials at the lowest total cost while optimizing service and inventory levels.  
    • Responsible for issuing Purchase Orders for new programs.
    • Collaborates with program team experts to develop statements of work and overall business requirements/ standards for the Commodity Leads to include in Request for Quote (RFQ)/Request for Proposal (RFP) packages.  
    • Follows all plant safety rules and regulations.

    • B.A. or B.S. in related field and at least eight (8) years’ experience in purchasing raw materials and fabricated parts. 
    • CPM or CPIM and Lean manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory.  
    • Sourcing experience a plus. 
    • Certification in purchasing or materials desired. 


    Must have:

    • Experience in SAP Systems.
    • Strong negotiating skills.
    • Exceptional communication skills, strong project management/team leadership skills.
    • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word and MS Project.
